what is the difference between a 1965, 283-H #837562, GM, Chris craft motor, and a 1965 Gray Marine 283, 188 hp, T4413. motor? I have chance to buy the gray marine motor, to replace my old 1965 283-H motor. will it work?

Hello. My name Tan.

They are the same base engine. The only difference might be rotation. You could have gears or chain for the timing components on cam and crank. The chain will be standard rotation LH and the gear will be opposite rotation RH. The rotation is determined at the rear of the engine flywheel end.

Both engines are GM 283 cubic inches.
