I have a 2012 F90 Yamaha Outboard. Tilt and trim stopped

Customer Question

I have a 2012 F90 Yamaha Outboard. Tilt and trim stopped working. I get no clicking sound. I replaced fuses. Engine starts but nothing happens when I press trim switches. I can't find manual release screw, it must be below water line. Motor is slightly tilted up and in the water.

Hi Jim, my name is Jason.

Are you getting no clicking from both sets of trim switches? By that I mean is there no reaction from both the buttons on the shifter and the buttons on the outboard?

Expert:  Jason replied 12 months ago.

It looks like you read my reply and logged off. Did you still need help with this?

Do you have a handheld volt meter in order to check for voltage at the trim relay?

Customer: replied 12 months ago.
I would have to first find the trim relay-- and then but a volt meter
Expert:  Jason replied 12 months ago.

A meter isn't something I can teach you how to use. Do you know how to use one?

Customer: replied 12 months ago.
no sir
Expert:  Jason replied 12 months ago.

I don't think this is something I will be able to help you with.

Thanks anyway Jason

Based on what I told you, what things should I be checking or looking for?
Customer: replied 12 months ago.
What should I check first? Ground? Some electrical connection?
