Have Boat Questions? Ask a Boat Repair Expert.
Hello, my name is***** will assist you today.
Have you replaced the primer bulb recently? If so, with what brand?
How do your spark plugs look?
The bulb should hold the fuel regardless of it the anti-siphon valve is installed or not. Are you near the boat now?
take a 5/16" socket and remove the fuel pump from the block. It is held on by two bolts. Then use the primer bulb to see if you get any fuel from the hole in the back of it or the hoe connection in the front of it.
Shoot me the serial number of the engine, and I can tell you where it is.
The A would be a number
Is the engine a 60
That is what I am getting.
Locate the white filter near the carbs. Follow that hose that comes into it, there is the fuel pump. Will either be in the center of the block on the left side, or down low on the right side.
only remove the two that go thru the pump and into the block. They are at opposite corners.
I will be here. I have several questions at the moment, do I may not get right back to you.
Remove the hose from the front cover of the pump, then locate just the two bolts hat go all the way thru the pump and into the block, take those two out, leave the other two in. Leave the hoses connected t the center body of the pump. With the pump loosened off, squeeze the primer bulb and see if there is any fuel coming from the hole in the back of the pump or from the elbow on the front cover. If there is, rebuild the pump.
Let me know if there is not a leak in those two spots, we will continue troubleshooting.
I an here until you are done. Just reply back the same as you have today.
Your welcome. I should come online around 10 AM CST.
