My 40 hp has no fire to plugs

Hello. My name is Tan.

This will take more than one reply to find the issue with your engine.

The first thing we need to do is disconnect the black/yellow wire from the switch box. Now check for spark do you have spark?

If no spark we will need to do some checks with an ohm meter. Do you have an ohm meter?

I will also need the engine serial number to know which ignition system you have exactly.

Post back with findings and the info I need to help with your issue.

I have a ohm meter yes
I spun the motor over and no voltage to the coils
I'm also concerned about the kill switch on the can on the controller not sure if it's operating properly

That's is the purpose of disconnecting the black/yellow wire from the switch box. This will eliminate the stop circuit from grounding the ignition killing all spark.

I need the engine serial number to know which system you have.

What color are the wires coming from the stator. Do you have blue and red or green/white and white/green?
