Customer Question

I have a 2005 Yamaha LX 210. One of the engines won't start. I'm only measuring 1.5 volts input to the starter relay instead of 12 like the other motor. It's only getting 1.5 volts out all the way up to the switch. I can't figure out where the voltage drop may be coming from.

Hi and thank you for your question.

This sounds like either the starter motor is frozen or the engine is.

Have you noticed if the battery cables to the problem engine get hot when you try to crank it?

Thanks
