Customer Question

I have a 97 1100 STX. The oil and fuel gauge always read full and the speedometer doesn't work. I have a feeling there's a bad common wire. Any ideas where I should look?

Hello, my name is***** you for allowing me to assist you today.
With the gauges reading full what you have is a ground wire issue. It is coming into contact with the sending wires. Inspect your harness of the ski to ensure that you do not have any cuts or nicks in it anywhere. Or this is a grounded sender. You can unplug one of them and see if the other will read correctly.
