I have a 2006 200HP mercury outboard. While using it yesterday

Customer Question

Hi
I have a 2006 200HP mercury outboard. While using it yesterday it shut down.
Now when I attempt to start it I only get a clicking sound and my smart craft
says what I believe to be seal when I turn the key on. One other note yesterday
my motor tilt and trim would not work but now it is. Any thoughts? I am on vacation
and would love to use my boat

Hi Mel, my name is ***** ***** I will be helping you today.
Do you have a voltmeter, and do you know how to take basic voltage measurements?
Customer: replied 1 year ago.
Hi
I do not have a volt meter with me
Expert:  Jason replied 1 year ago.
That depends on the brand of the gauge. Is the gauge simply not working?

I'm sorry that reply was not meant for you. The clicking is generally low voltage. You could have something as simple as a dead battery. Do you have another battery you can try?
Customer: replied 1 year ago.
What gauge are you speaking about?
Customer: replied 1 year ago.
My battery says it is fully charged and it was just purchased. I am not very bright about motors
Should I try and charge it more? Any suggestions would be great
Expert:  Jason replied 1 year ago.
You would need to have a meter to say it's fully charged. To be honest if you don't have a meter there isn't any thing we can do.
Customer: replied 1 year ago.
OK I will see if I can find someone with a meter to check it
Expert:  Jason replied 1 year ago.
What you would need to check is the voltage of the battery with the key held to start.
