9 months

Gas has a shelf life of 3 months after the day it's refined, not the day you buy it. That life can be stretched to 6 months if it has a fuel stabilizer added to it. Again that's after the day it's refined. Gas can easily be a month or 2 old by the time you actually buy it. That being said if there was nothing else wrong with the engine, the old gas by itself would definitely cause the engine not to run correctly an not allow it to make full power. So that gas will definitely have to be disposed of, and the fuel tank filled up with fresh fuel. Did you want to do that and get back to me, or what works best for you?

Does that make sense to you?
