Hello, my name is***** you for allowing me to assist you today.
What you are hitting is the Neutral rev limiter. This engine is not meant to be revved with out being under a load. You could stretch a rod, and eventually put one thru the block. The motor is just protecting itself, this is all normal for an Optimax.
