I have a 99 kawasaki Ultra 150.. It turns over, trim works,

Customer Question

I have a 99 kawasaki Ultra 150.. It turns over, trim works, but I'm getting no spark at plugs. What could cause the no spark condition? What can I check? I put an inline spark tester on each plug and got nothing. Is this a bad igniter? How do I check it?

Hey Kenny I'm ready and waiting?

Expert:  Kenny O. replied 1 year ago.

Hi, didn't catch your name ?

To start I need you to open up the electrical box and you will find a "white" wire coming from the CDI unit, I need you to unplug that wire, basically what you'll be doing is eliminating all the "kill" switches in the system, this will give us the best place to start if you still have no spark after unplugging that wire.

Let me know what you come up with

Thanks

Kenny

Kenny not sure which one to take off. My cdi or igniter has 3 plugs..

One is coming from Coils.. each plug has multiple wires coming into it.

So which one?

Expert:  Kenny O. replied 1 year ago.

Thanks Cory, into the igniter there is a plug that is coming from the chassie electrics, in that plug is a white wire, I need you to back that out of the connector, do not cut it, do a you tube and look for "removing a pin from a connector"

Let me know

Thanks

Kenny

Ok the pin is out. What next?

Customer: replied 1 year ago.

This is agonizingly slow Kenny...lol

Expert:  Kenny O. replied 1 year ago.

Sorry buddy, next turn the unit over and check for spark, if you don't have spark then we'll need to diagnose the electrical part of the ignition, you will need a multi meter ?

Thanks

Kenny

Customer: replied 1 year ago.

Customer: replied 1 year ago.
