I have a hydraulic engine that lifts up about 3 inches each time I hit and hold the button, I have to let go of the button and hold it again and it will go up another 3 inches, so on and so forth. can you please help me with this?

Try and apply power directly to the motor and see if it will continue to run or will it cut off still. If it still stops, it is a bad motor, it is will continue to run, it is a bad button.
