My 2001 2hp Honda 4 stroke engine stalls when choke is pushed in and throtle is moved to idle position. The engine runs fine if throtle is at start position or choke remains out about 1/4 of full choke. I have fresh gas in engine. Any suggestions?
Optional Information: Make (of engine): Honda Model (of engine): 2hp 4 stroke Year: 2001 Horsepower: 2hp Already Tried: changed gas, checked spark plug gap.
Anytime you need to use the choke to keep a motor running means the carb is dirty and needs to be cleaned and rebuiltThe reason is that your getting to much air and not enough of fuel, thats why the choke is used to reduce the air flow and the motor stays runningSo you will need to rebuild the carb and it will be good to go
Please outline how to clean and rebuild the carb.
