Customer Question

I have a 1998 40h johnson 2 stroke oil injected motor, when I start it the low oil alarm and light come on,the alarm stops in about 1-2minutes and the light stays on for about 5 min, the oil is full and the motor is getting oil because it is blowing smoke, like 2strokes do, any ideas. Thanks Murree

Hello, I'm Mike.
I'm happy to help you today. Please post back to this thread for any questions or concerns, either before or after payment.
You may be getting a false signal from your VRO pump. Disconnect the wire plug from the VRO and see.if it goes away. If so you need to replace the VRO pump.

Customer replied 335 days and 6 hours ago.

I have tried that and and it stays on

Oil warning system will be intermittent horn and constant horn where as overheating will be constant horn and and light. It sounds like an issue with the wiring.
If the oil horn and light come on with both the VRO and float switch disconnected.you need to start disconnecting more.wires.to see when it shuts off.
