I have a 19ft Stratos bass boat with a 175hp mariner outboard on it. I lost my prop while fishing and dont know what size the old one was. A friend of mine telling me to goto a 25 pitch with 14 and 3/4. Is that too big or small?
Welcome, I will be happy to assist you. If you have a question or need clarification please post back at any time.Which year/ model number is XXXXX Stratos and what is the year of the engine?Jeff
The boat is a 88 but not sure of the model, its a 18'9" im almost certian...the engine is a 92 or 93.
Your best bet is probably a Trophy 14 X 24 or 14 X 25 stainless. Best all around prop for your application with the large gearcase. If you have the small gearcase XR or Magnum engines the 13 3/4 would be correct. Thanks,Jeff
how do i tell what gearcase i have?
The 150 XR models used a 4 1/4" diameter gearcase. Yours should be a 4 3/4" diameter. I put the small gearcase in because some guys ran the smaller gearcase even on the larger HP boats.Jeff
The diameter is where the prop meets the lower unit?
The back of the bullet, where the propshaft is, measure side to side.
Do I measure to the inside of the gear case or outside?Mine is 4 1/4 inside.
Outside diameter. so you want the 14 X 24 or 25 prop.Jeff
