Should I use a marine fuel additive in my twin Suzuki DF300

Resolved Question:

Should I use a marine fuel additive in my twin Suzuki DF300 outboards. I am using gas that sometimes has ethanol and sometimes does not. If yes, which additive do you recommend?

Thank you.

Hello Bruce,

The minimum octane rating that you should use is 87, however, Suzuki recommends using gasoline with an octane rating of 89 or higher when possible. They also recommend adding a fuel stabilizer, especially when using gasoline containing ethanol. I would recommend Sta-Bil.
