I have a evinrude 2006 150HP the "general alarm" is sounding and leave the red ligt on. the motor continues tu run in full power. what can be causing this alarm?
Optional Information: Make (of engine): evinrudeModel (of engine): 2006Horsepower: 150 Already Tried: the motor is working perfect, but a couple of times this season there have been this alarm sounding; leaving the steady red light, the motor continue to run on full power. the fiste time it happened i just took the motor to idle and after 3 minutes it disepared. it has now become worse, it is sounding the alarm right away and the light is always red, still the motor is running perfectly.
Hi. There are (4) lights on the gauge, (no oil, hot, check engine, & low oil), which light is coming on ??? I need the model number of the motor, (it's located on a tag on the transom bracket). When does the red light come on ? (when you turn the key on, start the motor up, running for awhile ??). The more info you can give me the better I can help you. Get back to me, Thanks.
hi, it is the check engine. today i run for 15 min on 3200 rpm....then the alarm came with a steddy red light on check engine. the motor continued to run perfectly even with the alarm. i stoped it and waithed for 10 min....but the alarm came back when i started it again. the motor is somthing like ESP 2006 standard edition. i dont have serial number at hand for the moment
Hi. Is this an "E" TEC Fuel injected motor ??? If so there are many different sensors on the motor that can turn on the check engine light & sorry to say to find out which one it is you would need to take it to an authorized Evinrude or Johnson dealer to get the motor hooked up to a computer to find out what is causing the issue. The one thing you could check is the fuel filter on the motor, (it has a water sensor in it & if you get water in the filter it would turn on the check engine light), so you can pull the filter off & empty it into a clear jar to see if you have water & be careful putting it back on, you need to watch aligning the sensor probes with the center of the filter. I hope this helps, Please click accept & if I can be of further help please contact me. Good Luck & Thanks.
