Hello. To change your impeller you need to drop the lower unit. Put the motor into forward gear and then remove the bolts/nuts holding the lower gear to the mid-unit at the anti-ventilation plate. Note that one bolt is probably under a trim tab, so mark it's position and remove the tab to expose the bolt head. Once bolts are removed, the lower unit will drop down. The water pump will be right at the top with the drive shaft coming out - the housing top must be removed, then the impeller can be removed from the shaft. Be sure to retain the key and replace it with the new impeller. I recommend that you pick up a manual so you have illustrations, etc. - www.iboats.com or www.amazon.com are good sources. Seloc manuals are best, XXXXX XXXXX available in paper or online versions.

ok dave,tried this first but unit didn't drop down,maybe not forward enough

did see a cotter pin thru the square bar that was attached to shift linkage,under engine,

did't want to go for that since it looked like I would have to remove starter bracket

and sneek a needle nosed pliers in to reach it
