i have a Yamaha SX200TXRX, 1999 Salt water series 2. could someone please tell me how to replace the water pump. i have the new pump, but having trouble getting the lower unit to seperate from engine, motor is run only in fresh water. Have weak stream of water coming out of sprayer. thank you, RON (Minnesota)

Hi Ron from Matt at JA,

If you have all of the fasteners undone and the unit has seperated from the midsection, then it is the shift linkage up underneath the intake manifold that needs to be disconnected. You may have to take the lower engine cowlings of to get at it.

Let me know if that is the problem or if there is something else going on.
