I just bought a 2007 X3. The seat belt warning signal goes

Customer Question

Hi, I'm Chris; I just bought a 2007 X3. The seat belt warning signal goes off after the seat belt is on and the car is running. Stays on for a few minutes and is very irritating. I'm also noticing the intermediate wipers don't seem to work.
JA: Have you checked the fuses? Do you know if there is power to the wiper motor?
Customer: I have not, but I will. The wipers are getting power.
JA: Are you fixing your X3 yourself? What have you tried so far?
Customer: Not yet, I just bought it yesterday afternoon...just took it for a good ride today.
JA: Anything else you want the mechanic to know before I connect you?
Customer: No, those are the only two hiccups so far...

Hello and welcome to JustAnswer!

It's going to take take some electrical testing for each issue to determine the cause. The most likely cause for the seatbelt warning not going off is the switch in the buckle but it could be a wiring issue. The most likely cause for the intermittent wipers not working would be the switch if all other functions do work correctly and the wipers do park correctly when shut off.
