Mini Cooper With Check Engine Light And No Power.

Customer Question

2011 Mini Cooper with check engine light. It has no power consistently. Seems like it is running on three cylinders and idles very rough. It also takes a long time to get up to speed.
What is the problem?

I agree it sounds like you are running on three cylinders. First we need to find out which cylinder it is. You can go to your local parts store and see if they will scan your faults for you. More then likely it is a coil or spark plug. You could just replace all four of them (if one has failed the others are not far behind) and this should take care of your issue.
