I have a 2008 mini base model. I could not get any ignition

Customer Question

Hi I have a 2008 mini cooper base model.
I could not get any ignition so I get a new key, the can start one time them cut off and now it will only start if I put direct current to the fuel pump.
And when I scan it now it is saying no communication with dsc.

Hello and welcome to JustAnswer!

A replacement key would have to be programmed to the vehicle to allow the engine to start and run. Since you didn't mention a locksmith or dealer programming the key I'm assuming this may not have been done. The key may not have been the original problem but if it was not programmed then that is at least part of the problem now.

Was the replacement key programmed?
