Customer: My name is***** repair palm coast florida, I have 1997 bmw 328i no crank ,by pas starter and crank over, chek fuzes , one was broken #31 , stil no start, I have power from ignition switch ( black yellow), starter immobilization switch blu wire 3.5 volt, brown ( - ) jump wire no help, put new ignition switch, no good, ( manual trans). Put scanner code 18 EWS signal defective, power on fuse box , ignition switch 11.4 volt, customer got only one key,. On ignion switch small brown wire all the time, and blu/white, has Ground signal

The original key communicates with the EWS through an antenna ring around the tumbler. When you replaced the switch, did you transfer that ring?
