I'm having a difficult time finding information on the rear

Customer Question

I'm having a difficult time finding information on the rear (passenger side) bearing for my BMW E90 2006 325i. Neither side is magnetic on the bearing, so how do I tell if the tone ring is present so I don't have lights popping up on my dash? Which side should be installed first?

Hello and welcome,
My name is ***** ***** it will be my pleasure to assist you today.
Where did you get the bearing?
Customer: replied 10 months ago.
BMW dealership. Century BMW in Greenville, SC to be exact.

The information I've found online has been conflicting to say the least. I'm hearing that one side should be slightly magnetic from the tone ring inside, and that I should be able to stick a paperclip to that side of the bearing. This is a F.A.G. bearing from the dealership, so it should be correct.

does one side of the bearing have a black seal?
Customer: replied 10 months ago.
Nope. Both are red

Yes one side should be magnetic, I use a razor blade to determine which side it is and your tone ring is in the wheel bearing on your model. Can you give me the part number I will verify it is the correct part to install.

Part number - 33 41 6 762 317
Razor would not stick to either side
