CV axle went out on my sons 2006 mini S, manual

Customer Question

CV axle went out on my sons 2006 mini cooper S, manual transmission. However, everyone he buys to replace the old one seems to be too short. He swears he has the right part number, but I'm a skeptic. Any ideas?

Hello, I'm Brandon - Mini tech.

Which side is he trying to replaced?

Expert:  internal88 replied 1 year ago.

Did he take the old CV axle out yet?

Expert:  internal88 replied 1 year ago.

Is it the non-convertible version?

Customer: replied 1 year ago.
it is the non-convertible version, manual, and the driver's side. The old one is already out, we actually have it at a mechanic who can't figure out why the new one won't fit. The old one was pretty much destroyed. My knucklehead son actually replaced the old one himself a couple of months ago, I'm sure he doinked that up! But know we can't find one that fits!

Hold on let me give you correct part number.

Can you please tell me the build date.

The build date badge is located on the driver's side door sill.
