The temp today has risen to over 100 and I have been going

Customer Question

The temp today has risen to over 100 and I have been going back in forth in traffic. Would that effect the transmission performance? It was at the hottest part of the day when this happened. I haven't had this happen before except the one time the trans fail light came on. I pulled over when that happened and turned the car off. I waited 10 minutes and drove on with no problem.

Yes this would affect the transmission and stop and go traffic in hot weather would make it worse. Shutting the car off and turning it back on after ten minutes resets the control unit and lets it cool down.
