how to remove the left front door latch on a 2002 BMW X5

Customer Question

how to remove the left front door latch on a 2002 BMW X5

Optional Information:
Year: 2002
Make: BMW
Model: X5
Engine: 3.0

Already Tried:
Removed the interior door panel. Took out the broken interior door handle with cable from where it was broken off the latch. Tried to remove the other cable that is fitted over a nipple on the latch but can't get it off. I don't want to accidently break this cable. Also tried to loosen the hex nuts on the outside of the loor latch to give a little slack but no luck. Can you give me instructions and possibly pictures on how to do it? Thanks a bunch!!! JimT
