My son's BMW 540i driver door can not be unlock with the key. The key will not unlock the trunk as well. The key will turn to lock the driver's door, but will not turn to unlock the driver door or trunk. The actuator has been replace, but the key still will not work. The key remote stop working years ago. Could the key stop working to unlock both the door and trunk, but still will crank up the car.

My son have been lock out of his car, he has call popalock(locksmith) and they could not get in his car. We broke out the driver side window to get into the car and we had the window and lock actuator replace and the key still will not unlock the driver's door or trunk.
