I HAVE A 1997 BMW 528I AND THE TRANSMISSION WANT SHIFT RIGHT. BUT WHEN I JACK IT UP IN THE BACK IT WILL SHIFT THROUGH ALL THE GEARS. AND I HAVE A CODE SAYING ITS THE ABS SPEED SENSOR ON THR RIGHT FRONT I WAS WONDERING WOULD THAT MAKE IT NOT SHIFT. THE FLUID LEVEL IS FULL. SOMEONE TOLD ME THAT THE SENSOR WOULD CAUSE THAT PROBULEM I WANT TO MAKE SURE. CAUSE WHEN THE BACK WHEELS IS OFF THE GROUND IT SHIFT THROUGH ALL THE GEARS.

a problem with the ABS system can cause transmission shifting issues, and a damaged wheel sensor can sometimes damage the abs module
so, it is possible that the issues are linked, but I would say likely not in this case. it would be worthwhile to solve the abs issue prior to further diagnosing the transmission though, just in case.
