I have a 325i and I can not get it to start. It sounds like it is out of gas, but it has a full tank. I drive it every day so it has not been parked for any length of time. I have never had any problems with my car until this. Can you give me any ideas on what may be the problem.

Before reading my answer below, please note that I do not receive any credit or compensation whatsoever for my time and effort until the green ACCEPT button is pressed. Thank you.
this indicates that it is not getting spark, or not getting fuel
common possibilities for no spark are: bad crank sensor, problem with engine computer, problem with engine computer power supply
common possibilities for no fuel are bad fuel pump, blown fuel pump fuse, other problem with fuel pump power supply
of all the above I would guess that the fuel pump has failed, but additional checks and hands on testing will be required to verify.
I hope that is helpful, please let me know if you have further questions, or if I can clarify anything for you.
It has been my pleasure to help today and I wish you the best of luck with your vehicle.

I am not a mechanic. How do I check these possible problems. Where is the fuel
pump?
Hi again, Please do not forget to click "ACCEPT" as this is the only way I am credited for my answer. I am not credited or compensated in any way until "ACCEPT" is pressed. Justanswer is an honor system. Thank you.the fuel pump is located inside the fuel tank and is accessed via a hatch under the rear seat
if you are not familiar with these systems or how to check them you should really have it done by a professional.
if you are looking for simple things to check, you could try to start the car by spraying starter fluid into the intake while cranking, if it starts on this, you know you have spark and can look further to fuel delivery as the issue,
or, you can check for power at the fuel pump and if it is running or not. if power is present and it is not running, then it is bad.
again, if you are not familiar with these systems or these checks or the equipment required, you should have it carried out professionally

Thank you Steve. I still do not understand what I am doing so I guess the closest BMW service is 300 miles away and if it doesn't start I guess I will have to pay to have it hauled there. Wow! BMW's are expensive to get fixed because not any mechanic knows how to work on them. Oh well, thank you for answering my questions. A guy would probably know more about what you are suggesting I try. Thank you again.
You are welcome
any local shop should be able to help, you don't need to get it towed to bmw.
please do not forget to click "ACCEPT" as this is the only way I am paid for my answer.
