very specific diagnostic equipment is required to read the faults from this transmission, so you need to be sure that he has the correct equipment to do so.

If he does have the correct equipment to communicate with the transmission control module, and there are indeed no faults stored, although the car is going into transmission fault mode, then I would suspect the trasnmission control module itself is bad.

I would advise having the car scanned with a proper BMW scan tool prior to replacing the control module though.

I hope that is helpful, please let me know if you have further questions, or if I can clarify anything for you.

It has been my pleasure to help today and I wish you the best of luck with your vehicle.

just answer is an honor system. thank you.

sorry I think I misinterpreted your description.

if the car is simply not shifting until full revs, then this would be a problem with the speed input , the trans computer, or an internal mechanical issue with the transmission.

I would again advise a proper diagnostic with a BMW scan tool as you will likely be looking at an expensive repair regardless, so you don't want to get it wrong.

Please let me know if you have further questions.

If I have answered your question, I would kindly ask that you please press the green "ACCEPT" button so that I receive credit for doing so.
