i have a 1989 325I, I can not open hood due to the cable from inside got disconnected. What does it take to replace, cost and how can i pop the hood in an emergency?

To unlock the hood look through the drivers side grille and you will see a slot in the latch assembly, insert a screw driver into the slot and turn it to open the latch.
To replace the cable is very easy, you will follow it from the release handle through the fire wall to the latch assembly.
