I have a 2006 750LI. Continual transmission problems. Trouble

Resolved Question:

I have a 2006 750LI. Continual transmission problems. Trouble finding gear; slams into gear; and "lurches" at idle. Dealer put in new computer and reprogramed; back in again to have compression changed. Back in again. Nothing helps. I love car but hate transmission.

Hi, how many miles are on it?
Customer: replied 6 years ago.
34,000 now. 20,000 when I got it certified. Troubles started immediately.

That is really strange at that mileage, especially with a new and reprogrammed tranny control computer

Your best option at this point is to have the dealer involve the regional technical manager / field technician. He will be able to update the transmission with different software (not available to the dealer) or have the tranny control module overnighted to BMW engineering in new jersey for reprogramming.

There isn't much else that can be done given what has already taken place.

Is a new transmission an option??
Expert:  Steve replied 6 years ago.
It would be pretty rare to need a replacement at tha mileage, but it is not impossible. I would have the field manager involved first. Bmw probably won't authorize a replacement without his involvement regardless. Let me know if you have further questions. Please press accept if satisfied. Cheers. Steve
