How do you change the fuel filter in a 2006 BMW X3 I have

How do you change the fuel filter in a 2006 BMW X3? I have the tank opened and cannot figure out how to remove the filter inside. Help!

Here is the instructions on changing the filter.

Remove rear seat bench.

Release screws ( 1 ) and remove cover ( 2 ) from right side of fuel tank.

Release sealing ring with special tool 16 1 020 and remove cap for service opening.

Tightening torque for sealing ring: 55-60 Nm

Installation:

Service cap can only be installed in one position.

When installing, make sure lug ( 1 ) of service cap engages in corresponding opening on fuel tank.

Always replace seal ( 2 ) .

Press retaining lugs ( 2 ) together simultaneously in direction of arrow and detach fuel line ( 1 ) from pressure filter.

Unlock line connection ( 1 ) and detach from pressure regulator.

Remove fuel filter with pressure regulator ( 1 ) from mounting in direction of arrow.

When installing, make sure that turning lock ( 1 ) on fuel filter engages opening ( 2 ) on fuel filter holder.

Disconnect grounding cable ( 1 ) from fuel pressure regulator and fuel filter.
