Hello and welcome to Just Answer.

What year and model BMW do you have?

Does the remote not work or the key not start the car?

Customer: replied 6 years ago.

Sam

The car is 2002 E 39 serie 5 and everything works except the lock /unlock function.I can start the car and open close doors manually. The battery inside the remote is dead and obviously I can't program/syncro it with the car.I know the procedure.Question is how to charge it apart from the induction charging method that is used when the car is runningwith the key inserted in the ignition.

Thanks

Expert:  Sam replied 6 years ago.

Other than driving the car with the dead key, there is no other way to charge the battery. Sorry.
