Hello and welcome to Just Answer.

The battery in your key is not replaceable separately, it is a rechargeable battery that charges off of the ignition lock as the vehicle is driven. Note, the battery will only charge as the vehicle is driven, not just sitting with the engine running. There is no other way to charge the key battery.

thanks for info on battery in key. Any idea why car won't open (have been driving it). It is 18 degrees. Could it be the cold?
Expert:  Sam replied 6 years ago.
I doubt it is the cold. Have you checked all the fuses in the front and rear fuse boxes?
Customer: replied 6 years ago.
