How To Rekey New Doors Lock In My BMW 325.

Resolved Question:

I'm replacing the driver's side door for a 1994 BMW 325is, due to an accident. My question is: Can I rekey the new door's lock to match the remainder of the car? If so, at a high-level what is the process and potential cost? Thanks!

Do you have the original lock det still?
Customer: replied 6 years ago.
Sorry, not sure what "det" refers to, but I haven't replaced the door yet, so the current door's lock is still in my possession.

The easiest and cheapest way would be to transfer the lock assembly either way the door lock needs to be removed...may as well recycle what you have
