Customer Question

I have a rifle my father-in-law gave me 25 years ago. he has since passed away and I am looking for info on the gun. Markings include intricate scroll work of a large deer, possibly elk and markings: "Made in Belgium", "cal. 264" "R" with a crown over it, "L" with a star over it, "PV" with a symbol over it, a stamp with a crown on top that encircles the initials "R L G" and a hard to read name(?) "B. BLIN(?) CEE".

Hi Can you attach some pictures of the rifle, show all sides and a couple of close-ups would be great. Use the paperclip icon on the toolbar. Tom

Hi,The pictures are pretty blurry, but from what I see it is either an FN made Browning High Power, Medallion Grade or Olympian Grade. Both were built on Sako or Mauser receivers. Values for the Medallion Grade are $1500 to $1800 depending on condition. The Olympian Grade values are $5000 to $8500 depending on the condition. The following links are to sites with pictures on the Medallion and Olympian Grades.http://www.gunauction.com/buy/10982112http://www.mwreynolds.com/HTML/rifleBrowningOlympian.htmlThe auction prices may be higher, but there are no bids which usually means they are priced too high.I hope this helps you,Tom
