i have a hen who has bald areas especially on wing joint, breast and crop and feathers are quill like maintaining their feather sheath.
i have dusted and sprayed for lice/mites but no improvement. any ideas

Hi this is Dr. Hill. Bald, irritated skin can also be associated with calcium deficiency. Do you provide additional calcium supplement? If so, what and how? I would also recommend a thorough clean out of the coop. Can you post a picture of the lesions?
