Customer Question

I just discovered that my female guinea (2 1/2 yrs) has a fleshy bag the size of a baseball hanging between her legs. It's not red or oozy. I don't know how long it's been there; the way Guineas carry their wings down low pretty much hides it. She's acting normally (eating, fussing, running around, calling out, etc.). I grabbed her an felt it to see if there was an egg trapped in there, but couldn't feel one. She definitely was NOT happy about being held, but didn't cry out when I felt it. Of interest, please note that she has not laid a single egg this spring.

Barry, I can't imagine that you're seeing anything but a prolapsed vent. Please take a look here and let me know: This link also tells you how you might address it. I'm sorry I don't have a guinea link - only chicken; don't let Blondie know, please.
