The band on my cockatiel is too tight & the bird is starting

Customer Question

The band on my cockatiel is too tight & the bird is starting to limp. What do I do? I'm afraid of injuring her foot.

I'm sorry that your question wasn't answered in a timely manner. We don't have many avian vets on this site. Please don't attempt to remove the band yourself. Avian vets (please see here: www.aav.org) have special band cutters designed to remove these bands without harming the leg and have technicians trained in restraining Echo safely while this is done.

Please respond with further questions or concerns if you wish.
