Customer Question

I just found a morning dove in my yard, that appears to be sick or injuried. The dove is laying it's head on it's back. I've been able to get it to drink very small amount of water. What can I do to help this bird?

Hello & welcome, I am Dr. B, a licensed veterinarian and I would like to help you today. I do apologize that your question was not answered before. Different experts come online at various times; I just came online, read about your situation, and wanted to help.
Again I do apologize that my colleagues could not aid you sooner. If you would still like assistance, can you tell me:
Can it turn its head to the right position?
Is it collapsed?
Any changes from when you first took it in (as shock from trauma would settle with time)?
Any blood, swelling, or change of head trauma?
What food have you tried?
