Parakeet has labored breathing - He is 6yo. Has upper respiratory infection probably but don't have access to an Avian Vet since not in US. What is a common antibiotic that I could get here (no prescription needed its Mexico City) and what dosage/strength?

I'm sorry to hear about your parakeet. I typically treat bacterial infections in birds with Trimethoprim Sulfa. The dose is 15mg/kg. Usually the liquid is 240mg/5ml it is used in human children. Just keep in mind that it may not be a bacterial respiratory infection birds can also get fungal respiratory infections.
Good Luck!
