We have a older cockatiel. He got his foot hung in the cage twice and now it looks like his left leg is broke. Can we get this fixed?
Type of Animal: Cockatiel
Age: at least 10 maybe older
Name of Animal: Billy Bob
Nothing. We don't know what to do.
Hi,Welcome to Just Answer. I'm very sorry to hear about this guy's injury. Can it be fixed? That is always a possibility. The best way to determine this is to get him to your vet to have them evaluate him and the leg. Depending on what they find, they can make the best recommendations at that point. Could a tape splint be applied to facilitate healing? That maybe the best option. Here are some links to help find an veterinarian in your area that has avian experience if you don't have one yet. http://www.birdclinic.net/ http://www.aavac.com.au/localvet.htmlhttp://www.birdvet.com.au/http://www.birdmunchies.com.au/associations/index.htmhttp://www.aav.org/association/index.php?content=activeMembersList
