Are there any agencies other than Dept. of Social Services in Winston Salem, NC that will help foreign graduate students with their childcare payments to a daycare center?

Hi Customer (name blocked for privacy),

I can certainly research this for you. First, can you tell me which university/college are you attending? - Sometimes they have programs or referrals of their own for people in your situation in need of financial aid for daycare payments. - Some of them even offer free daycare services.

Thanks,
Patrick

The college I attend is Winston Salem Bible College. I already know for a fact this particular school does not provide services for childcare, neither do they offer a sponsorship program for one. The Dept. of Social Services in Winston Salem said "they do not help students that are in graduate school with daycare fees for their children".
Thank you,
Gertrude

Hi Customer (name blocked for privacy).

Indeed this school does not provide much help to parents trying to get an education! In fact, through quick research, I can see that they are one of the only schools that do not provide this service!

There are still a few other avenues for you to pursue. The child care services association has applications for people with lower income (such as students and single parents) in order to receive subsidy and a greatly reduced daycare cost. I don't know enough about your situation to know if you'd qualify, but you can give it a try here"

http://www.childcareservices.org/

You could also try contacting these people (if you haven't already):
http://www.fafsa.ed.gov/
Although they don't specifically offer child care subsidy or help directly, they will be able to direct you to some lesser known places/organizations that can offer assistance to you.

Here's a link to the NC child care and development center. - According to their "Do I qualify list", you would qualify for help, since you are in school". - Don't only fill out their form, but give them a call also. - They may be able to give you some information and help for your specific situation that may not be posted on their web-site.

Hope this helps!?
