List of World Marathons with Finishers

Thank you for turning to Just Answer with your question where we are always running hard to satisfy our guests. When it comes to Athletics or Track & Field there are two or three really good sources of information.

The first I would suggest you go to is http://www.marathonguide.com/races/home.cfm where there are so many different databases covering what you are looking for.

Another good one is the world governing body for Athletics (http://www.iaaf.org/) which is the International Association of Athletics Federations. And finally, there is what Track & Field afficianados refer to as The Bible of Track & Field - www.trackandfieldnews.com where they boast they have been the definitive source for more than a half century.

I just realized you asked for a list with winners. The problem there is I would need to know which marathons and in what year.

Those are good but was really hoping for a list of 2005 marathons with their respective total finisher counts. Again, like the initial link I sent.

I will go ahead and issue the payment if you believe that this is the best data available.

Thanks for getting back to me. The data you have identified is really very good, but it's only pertaining to the 2005 Marathons in the USA. Your original question asked for "world marathons". Could you specify exactly what data you're looking for, but keep in mind it might be a very tall order. There are likely hundreds of marathons in any given calendar year.

Sorry for the confusion. Yes, the link I sent contained US Marathon Finisher Totals only, I was hoping to get Marathon Finisher Totals for Marathons outside of the U.S (Preferrably the largest in size).

Again, if its a tall order, I understand and will issue payment as you have sent some good links there in any case.
