when were 99 books of the ancient bible thrown out and by whom?

sometime in early Christianity, during one of the first Pope's reigns, there was a conflagration during which 99 books of the Bible were just tossed aside, supposedly because they were to complimentary to women and their roles. I would like to know when this happened, where and who the Pope was that did this.
