My questions are in the spirtual and religious department. First I must Apologiise for the bad spelling which there will be a lot of. I am a Catholic helping to teach young (7th graders) Catholics who ask a lot of questions themselves and would like answers. we all want to know just how many religions there are and what they belive? how they compare to the practices of the Catholic Faith? Where they originanted and When? What proof do they go by as thier belief as being correct? I know I am Having problms whith Mohamed as the last Propheet and the so called Prophet Lehi who sopousedly came to the Americas in 650B.C. as the LDS claim espically if the world was considered flat untill Columbus sailed to the the new world in the 1400's A.D. I do appologize if I have affended anyone I am just typing my questions with out thought of how I am frazing them, and may come off as offensive with out meaning to be. I am also very tired and have been getting Fustrated with not being able to give these children their answers because of all the web sites that I have found do not answer my question only make me ask more with out getting any answers at all except in some minor details. I need just basic plain and simple answers that even my 6year old would be able to comprehend in 6 to 7 more years ( I personaly hope Sooner. but this has to be her growth dession not mine). The kids That I am helping to teach are some kids with a wonderful sense on what they belive and ask some very excelent question that make our teachers just proud to be a part of the class but they can not comprehend to much on the differrrence to other religions. Our goal is to help them be better equiped to handle questions thrown at them being in the so called bible belt and told that they are wrong for what they belive and they are asking us why. And as for christian suppose to be christan like and love one another it is very hurtful. I know this because I have been put to the test as an adult and called some things that are very un christan like from so called christans.I also need to know what the abbreviations C.E. in the christian or jewish time lime mean? Please help. thank you

I am catholic myself and have also wondered many a times how many religions are out there and what makes them different from ours. I think there is only one true answer to that though, and I'll put it in the form of a question. How many other religions can claim that the son of thier God, or higher power came to Earth as a man to die for thier sins?

Dave thank you but I am still looking for more answers. I belive I have been to that sight and it was helpful untill after about the third time trying to find just facts and not everything else.I just got more questions than answers or more accuratly more info to research more for pacific anssswers then what I have time to read trough to get the comparrisons and wheen they were"formed"
