I feel like I am "addicted" to food. I am trying to lose weight and feel like I need to re-educate myself on how to lose weight and not let my mind wander to food. How is the best approach to losing weight sensibly and keeping it off.
Optional Information: Person's Gender: Female Person's Age: 39 Already Tried: weight loss plans, eating less, exercising (but this seems to be hit and miss...)
Has any tests been done so far ?can you let me know your height and weight ?
height = 5'5
weight= ? prob. 250 - I know I need to weigh myself, but I do not currently have scale. It's in that range tho.
Dear Jacustomer ,I will recommend that you see a doctor who can do a physical exam , , fasting blood glucose , hba1c as underlying impaired blood glucose levels can lead to polyphagia (excessive hunger ) ,so this needs to be ruled out .The doctor should also check thyroid levels too .I will also recommend that you discuss with your doctor about orlistat which prevent some of the fat in foods eaten from being absorbed in the intestines. This unabsorbed fat is then removed from the body in the stool. . Other medication phentermine which is appetite supressant should also be discussed with the doctor .Depression also can make people eat more , so do discuss about that with the doctor too for behavioral therapy if required .A nutritonist visit is also recommended who can guide you with diet plans .
Thanks
