Bankruptcy Law Questions? Ask a Bankruptcy Lawyer Now.
Hi - my name is Chris and I'm a Bankruptcy attorney here to assist you.
Does all the money in that bank account belong to your boyfriend?
all but just my monthly child support
You will have to submit bank accounts for the 6 months before filing your Bankruptcy if, and only if, you have no "payment advices" to submit.
Are you receiving unemployment?
no I am not because I worked as a 1099 contractor
what is payment advices
Thank you for your response.
"Payment advices" are paystubs and benefit award letters.
If you were receiving unemployment, then you would have gotten an award letter from unemployment.
if I file now how will our bank statements affect my bankruptcy?
How much money is in the account? And how much of that money belongs to your boyfriend?
after bills are paid about $300
his money is in his savings
transfered to his savings
not a lot
Since there is so little money in the account, and since most of it belongs to your boyfriend, that account will not affect your Bankruptcy.
thanks so much! I appreciate your help!
