If the signer files bankruptcy and the co-signer is making

This answer was rated:

If the signer files bankruptcy and the co-signer is making payments can the co-signer take possession of the vehicle?

The primary is filing for bankruptcy and I have received letters from his lawyer and the lender of my truck. I called the lender and I only have about 2,400 left out of about 40k to pay off. I have made every payment out of my bank account since day 1.

What can I do to protect my asset? I am the secondary on the loan.

Hi JACustomer,

Is your name on the registration?

Customer: replied 5 years ago.
Yes,

Both of our names are XXXXX XXXXX like this:

Eugene Campbell
Joseph Patrick Monaghan (Me)

The order in which the names appear on the registration does not affect the right of each owner to use the truck. There is no reason why you cannot take possession, whether or not you were making the payments exclusively.

I think this is what you wanted to know. If not, please let me know.
Thank you!
